Cameron Tripped up by Northwestern Oklahoma

ALVA, Okla. – The Cameron Aggies dip below .500 after falling to the Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers, 89-86. Jaylan Thomas leads the Aggies in scoring 16 points, but Black-and-Gold could not hold off Malik Parsons, who dropped 34 points.

Kevin O'Connor's offense broke out for a season-high 86 points, seeing five Aggies reach double-figures with a sixth posting nine points.

The Aggies reserved their typical script getting off to a good start in the first 20 minutes of play, winning the half 41-38 before stumbling in the second half and getting outscored 51-45.

Jaylan Thomas played 33 minutes, enough to turn in a double-double with a team-high 16 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists. The swiss army knife went 3-for-6 from downtown, tied for the most makes on the team with three-point sniper Colt Savage.

Savage nearly topped Thomas with 15 points, Ernest Young scored 14, Jaden Okon scored 11 down low, and DeSean Munson scored 10 points and seven rebounds.

CU had no answer for the Rangers' top scorer Malik Parsons who had a 34-point outburst while accounting for three of the Rangers' nine steals as Northwestern Oklahoma State caused chaos, forcing the Aggies into 20 turnovers, seven of which from the typically steady Reggie Prudhomme.

Prudhomme still made an impact with nine points, two assists, and two rebounds, shooting 3-for-5 from the floor.

The Aggies are well prepared for Lone Star Conference play, with seemingly every game of this non-conference slate coming down to the wire. Another contest that the Black-and-Gold had to battle, seeing six lead changes and three ties throughout the 40 minutes.

The 2-3 Aggies are set to end November with their LSC opener in Tyler, Texas, at UT-Tyler on November 30th before playing Dallas Baptist University in Dallas to tip off December on the 3rd.

The Black-and-Gold hold their home opener in the LSC on Saturday, December 10th, when they welcome St. Mary's to the Aggie Gym in Lawton, Okla.
