Aggies See Lead Slip Away Late

LAWTON, Okla. – The Cameron Aggies men's basketball team wraps up a three-game in four night stretch on the second night of a back-to-back with a rematch against the Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers.

The Aggies faced off with the Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers for the second time this season on Tuesday, only this time, the tilt was in the Aggie Gym. Earlier this season, CU lost a heartbreaker to the Rangers in Alva, Okla., 89-86 on November 26th. Tonight, both teams looked to turn their seasons around as the Rangers stumbled in off three streak losses and the Aggies looked to break a five-game skid.

In the first half, the two teams exchanged the lead three times, with as many ties, before the Aggies headed to the locker room with a two-point led by Colt Savage and Andre Washington, whom each had eight points.

In the second half, the Black-and-Gold struggled to close out the contest, as the Rangers finished on a 10-2 run over the last two minutes of action.

Jaden Okon finished with a team-high 20 points, as he was one of two Aggies in double-figures as forward DeSean Munson was able to log 10 points and seven rebounds in this contest.

A back and fourth game all night long that saw six lead changes and nine ties through the 40-minute contest.

Cameron made just three triples all night, compared to the nine three-pointers by the Rangers, which made the difference down the stretch.

The Aggies see their losing streak reach eight as they prepare to take on Lone Star Conference Rival Midwestern State on Saturday in the Aggie Gym with tip-off set for 3 p.m. CU will then see a long layoff not seeing the hardwood again until December 30th in Lubbock, Texas against Lubbock Christian University. Non-Conference play is behind Cameron, and they go full speed ahead into conference play.
