Cameron’s Rally Comes Up Short Versus DBU

DALLAS - The Cameron Aggies fell to the Dallas Baptist Patriots, falling to 2-5 before their Lone Star Conference home opener. A trio of Aggies logs double-figures, but their comeback bid falls short on the road.

The Aggies wrapped up a three-game road swing with their second Lone Star Conference matchup as they went down to Dallas and fell to Dallas Baptist University, 78-74.

Cameron has to figure out how to get off to better starts, falling behind 47-33 in the first 20 minutes of action before Kevin O'Connor made some critical halftime adjustments that launched the Black-and-Gold to a 41-point-second half outburst that saw them win the second half 41-31, and falling to the Patriots by four points. CU falls to 0-2 within the LSC, while the Patriots build a 2-0 cushion within the conference.

The Aggies had three players reach double-figures as Caylen Goff-Brown and Andre Washington each turned in 19 points, and Jaden Okon chipped in 18 points. Colt Savage just missed out on double-figures with nine points after connecting on a trio of triples.

The Patriots saw Cameron Kahn and Ricky Lujan score 21 points each which carried the DBU offense to a gutty home win.

Okon dominated the game from his starting spot going for 18 points, a team-high 11 rebounds, two assists, and a team-high two steals. Okon has been a consistent force for the Black-and-Gold all season.

The Aggies committed five more turnovers than the Patriots, which eventually doomed them in the Burg Center in Dallas.

Cameron has lost their last six meetings with Dallas Baptist and will now have a week to regroup before welcoming in St. Mary's to the Aggie Gym on December 10th for their first home game in conference play.
