RICHARDSON, Texas – For the second time this season, the Cameron tennis program has swept the Lone Star Conference weekly awards with 
Thomas Cardona and 
Anastasia Uspenskaia being tabbed Players of the Week on Wednesday. 
 
Both the Aggie tennis teams have been successful to start their spring and that continued when they opened league play this past weekend with wins over DBU before splitting a pair of matches against Auburn-Montgomery.
 
Uspenskaia helped the sixth-ranked Aggies keep their winning streak alive and remain perfect in Division II with wins over DBU and Auburn-Montgomery this weekend. The freshman won her 10th and 11th singles matches of the spring with 6-3, 6-2 and 6-1, 7-6 victories. She and doubles partner 
Magda Wawrowska also went 2-0 playing at one doubles with 6-3 and 6-1 wins to improve to 9-4 on the year.
 
Cardona was undefeated for the Aggies during a 1-1 weekend, going 2-0 in singles to extend his winning streak to eight straight matches and 2-0 in doubles. The freshman started the week with a 7-5, 6-2 win over DBU's Gabe Garrido and then added a come from behind 3-6, 6-2, 6-0 win against Auburn-Montgomery's Joao Guariente. Cardona and 
Tomas Almeida also won a pair of 6-2 matches in doubles, making them 9-3 this season as a pair.
 
This is Cardona's second straight honor and the Aggie men's fourth straight with 
Kristian Kubik and Almeida being named the previous two weeks. Uspenskaia is the second Aggie women's tennis player to claim the honor this season as 
Vasilisa Polunova earned it three weeks ago. 
 
Cameron has a long stretch of conference matches coming up starting with UT Tyler on Friday, March 25, with the women starting at 10 a.m. and the men following at approximately 1 p.m. at the Streich-Henry Tennis Complex in Lawton.
