GLEN ROSE, Texas – Led by a record-tying performance by Preston Holmes, the Aggies men's golf team qualified for the Lone Star Conference Championship Medal Match Semifinals with a third place finish in stroke play, but CU fell in the semifinal 4-1 to West Texas A&M.

Cameron entered Tuesday morning's third round in third place, needing to remain in the top-4 teams to advance to the match play semifinals. They took care of that by shooting 282 in the final round to finish the 54 holes with an 839 to remain in third place.

Joey Kirk and Hamish Murray both shot even par in the third round to total scores of 213 and 214 and place in the top-25 while Trevor Mierl added a 76 to his final score to finish stroke play with a 217.

CU was five strokes back of the Buffs followed by Oklahoma Christian, who also shot 12-under in the final round to move into the top-4 and qualify for match play with an 842.

Texas A&M International's Mauricio Figueroa claimed the top medalist honor, shooting a 200 with three sub-70 rounds. St. Mary's Ryan Dixon was just one stroke back in second with Nathan McCulloh claiming third with a 202 just ahead of CU's Holmes. Daniel Unger from WT and LSC Player of the Year Jake Doggett from MSU tied for fifth at 204.

Unfortunately, Murray and Kirk were down by at least five after the first nine holes. Murray was able to bounce back but still lost his matchup by one with a 72, but Kirk ended up losing by four with a 75.
