Cameron Snaps Skid on Thursday

LAWTON, Okla. – The Cameron Aggies snapped a 13-game losing streak with an impressive 77-60 win over Oklahoma Christian. Andre Washington logs a career game going for 17 points and 18 rebounds.

The Aggies entered the night on a 13-game losing streak, 0-11 in the Lone Star Conference, and having last won a contest way back on November 19th. With the injury bug biting the Black-and-Gold hard down multiple starters, that did not stop CU from having their best shoot-around yet on Thursday morning ahead of their contest with the Eagles. First-year bench boss Kevin O'Connor calls this a "resilient" group. Tonight, they lived up to that moniker.

The Aggies got out to a blazing start going on a 10-0 run since OC hit the opening bucket and never looked back. CU eventually saw their lead swell to as many as 20 points in this contest, while Oklahoma Christian never found themselves on the high side of the scoreboard again after going up 2-0 in the first 16 seconds of the game.

The Black-and-Gold could not have done it without the low-post play of Andre Washington, who posted 17 points and 18 rebounds to go along with a block and a steal while shooting 6-of-9 from the floor, which included a rim-rattling slam that fired up the Aggie faithful.

Jaylen Thomas joined Washington in the double-double club chipping in 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Reggie Purdhhome (13), Caylen Goff-Brown (12), and Jaden Okon (11) all cracked double-figures as well for Cameron. Colt Savage logged eight points, including two timely triples to help the Aggies keep the Eagles at arm's length.

One of the lone returners from last year's squad, Kenyon Holcombe, compiled four blocks on the defensive end of the floor to go along with two points and a rebound during his 10 minutes of action.

Up Next, the Aggies hope to build on this momentum by welcoming UAFS to the Aggie Gym on Saturday afternoon, with tip-off slated for 3:00 p.m.
