LAWTON, Okla. – The Cameron women's tennis team will start the spring on the fringe of the top 10 as they enter the season ranked 11th in the ITA Division II Rankings released on Friday.

The Aggies ended their 2022 season in the opening round of the NCAA DII Championship, falling to sixth-ranked Columbus State. CU finished with a 14-9 record, which included a win over rival Midwestern State in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional.

Cameron ended last the season with a 21-6 overall record. Head Coach Josh Cobble's gang comes into the spring after losing just one player to graduation a year ago.

The Aggies look to build on their top 16 finish from a year ago with two of the top five players in the South Central region. Vasilisa Polunova comes into the year as the number three player in the region, Anastasia Uspenskaia is slated in the fifth spot, and Magda Wawrowska is ranked 16th. Polunova is the 23rd-ranked individual in the nation, and Uspenskaia comes into the year ranked 38th.

Uspenskaia and Wawrowska kick off the spring as the ninth-ranked doubles in the South Central. Cobble's crew is set for another run deep into the postseason.

The Black-and-Gold women's schedule features contests against No. 9 Central Oklahoma (Apr. 11), No. 12 St. Mary's (Apr. 8), No. 15 Washburn (Mar. 2), No. 19 Angelo State (Mar. 11), RV Midwestern State (Apr. 13), and RV Southeastern Oklahoma State (Feb. 23).

Cameron will open the season on Friday, Feb. 17, with a match against Division I UT Arlington.
