LAWTON, Okla. – The Cameron men's tennis team fell in their home opener 4-3 against Cowley County Sunday afternoon at the Streich-Henry Tennis Complex.
The Aggies dropped all three doubles matches to the CC to give the Tigers an early 1-0 lead. Tomas Almeida and Thomas Cardona fell 6-3, Baptiste Mercier and Alexandre Post dropped their match 6-4, and Kristian Kubik and Emilio Seelbach stumbled 6-4 at three.
CU would score points at three, four, and five as Mercier, Kubik, and Joao Duleba pulled out wins. Mecier won 6-3, 6-1, Kubik had a 6-2, 6-1 win, and Duleba claimed a 7-6(7-5), 5-7, 1-0(10-2) win.
Almeida fell 6-3, 6-1 at one, Cardona was defeated at two 6-3, 6-4, and Post dropped the matchup at six 6-3, 6-2.
The Black-and-Gold will travel to Durant, Okla., on Thursday, Feb. 23, to take on Southeastern Oklahoma State at 1:00 pm.
