LAWTON, Okla. – The Cameron women's tennis team knocks off Texas A&M-Kingsville 5-2 to start Lone Star Conference play on Thursday afternoon at the Streich-Henry Tennis Complex.

Vasilisa Polunova and Anastasia Uspenskaia took the doubles at one 6-0, and Jenna Goessel and Magda Wawrowska won 6-1 at three to give the Aggies a 1-0 lead early on.

At the No. singles, Polunova outlasted Alessa Maier of TAMUK 3-6, 7-6(7-1), [13-11]. Uspenskaia improved to 4-0 with a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 2. Kateryna Rudenko took the match at No. 4 6-4, 6-0, and Wawrowska won 6-4, 6-4 at No. 6.

Manga dropped a tiebreaker in the No. 3 match 6-2, 5-7, [8-10], and Goessel lost 6-3, 4-6, [11-13] at No. 5.

Cameron returns to action on Saturday when they host Angelo State at 1:00 pm.
