CU Seniors Win in Final Home Game

LAWTON, Okla. – Cameron won their 20th game at home this season after completing a three-game sweep of Angelo State on Senior Day with a 6-1 win at McMahon Field on Saturday afternoon.

With 20 wins at home this season, the Aggies secure the best home winning percentage at McMahon Field at .870. CU now has a 29-18 overall record and 25-14 in the Lone Star Conference, ranking in fifth place. They are a game back in the win-and-loss column from third place heading into the season's final week.

Ashlynn Bruce was 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run, Khmari Edwards went 2-for-4 with a run and a triple, and Taylor Rowley had a 2-for-3 outing with an RBI. Kaiden Boren was 1-for-3 with a run, an RBI, and a sacrifice fly, Mikayla Richmond went 1-for-3, and Josie Swafford was 1-for-1 with two runs, two walks and a triple.

Swafford improves to 10-10 in the circle after throwing 5.2 scoreless innings allowing four hits and striking out four Belles. Robyn Bales pitched the final 1.1 innings giving up a run on two hits with two strikeouts.

The Black-and-Gold took a 1-0 lead in the first when Edwards led off with a triple and then scored off Boren's sac fly.

In the fourth, Rowley singled through the right side to drive in Swafford to double Cameron's lead at 2-0.

Cameron took advantage of a couple of ASU miscues to extend their lead to 6-0 in the fifth. Kylie French and Boren scored off an RBI single to right from Bruce, and Swafford and Bruce scored on a dropped fly ball off the bat of Maci McMurtrey.

The Rambelles scored their only run in the sixth.

The Aggies will travel to Durant, Okla., for a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday, April 25, starting at 1:00 pm, before closing out the season at West Texas A&M beginning on April 28.
