LAWTON, Okla. – The Cameron softball completed the sweep over Texas A&M International with a 1-0 win in the series finale Friday afternoon at McMahon Field.
The win moves the Aggies into a tie with Oklahoma Christian for fourth place in the Lone Star Conference standings with a 21-12 record and now standing 24-16 overall.
Jocelyn Bright continued the pitching dominance from the Black-and-Gold with a three-hit shutout while striking out seven Dustdevils.
CU scattered seven hits, as Mikayla Richmond went 2-for-2, Kaiden Boren was 1-for-3 with a run, Ashlynn Bruce had a 1-for-3 outing, Karis Clark went 1-for-3, Khmari Edwards was 1-for-3, and Josie Swafford went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Swafford lined a single down the line in right field to drive in Clark for the lone run in the game.
The Aggies will travel to Lubbock, Texas, to take on the Lady Chaps, who are currently in third place in the LSC. Game one of the series will be on Tuesday, April 11, at 6:00 pm.
