Silver City, NM – Aggies win against Western New Mexico
Men's Basketball broke a three-game losing streak on Saturday against the Mustangs of Western New Mexico as they won the contest 84-76.
The Aggies took control of this game midway through the first half after the teams found themselves tied 24-24.
Miles Gurske would break that tie and put Cameron up by two with a layup off a fast break. The Mustangs mounted a comeback late in the game and came within one of the Aggies, but good free-throw shooting on the part of CU kept WNMU at bay. Cameron shot 84% from the free-throw line and hit 15-18 in the second half to secure the victory.
Jaylan Thomas led the Aggies in scoring with 21 points.
Andre Washington added a double-double, with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Men's Basketball returns to the Aggie Gym on Thursday, Jan. 18, at 7:30 p.m. when they take on Texas Permian Basin.
