Weekend Recap: Volleyball Falls To MSU and Texas Woman's

Lawton, OK. - The Aggie's dropped 2 games to Midwestern State University and Texas Woman's. The Aggie's were led by new Head Coach, Mariana Anastasiadi. The Aggie's will be back in action on October 30, AT West Texas A&M at 6 PM. 


How It Happened (MSU)
SET 1 | Players like Hailey Baker and Carsen Glaser leading the offense, the Aggies notched 19 kills at an impressive .351 attack percentage. Defensively, Jennifer Valdez and Glaser held their ground with blocks that stopped MSU attacks. The Aggies closed the set at 25-20, setting the tone early.

SET 2 | Attacks from Hailey Baker and sharp setting from Emily Keohen, led to many of the Aggies points at the start of the set, Jennifer Valdez stepped up with critical blocks. Despite Cameron's efforts, led by digs from Shelby Rusch and attacks from Kayla Eggiman, the Aggies lost this set 25-22.  

SET 3 | Hailey Baker and Carsen Glaser continued to provide crucial plays. Baker continued to attack the net aggressively. Meanwhile, Jennifer Valdez and Rhayan Earl worked hard on the blocks. Errors allowed MSU to close the gap and led to them taking the set 25-13. 

SET 4 | Cameron Aggies fought to push the match to a decisive fifth set, coming up just short, with the game ending 25-27. Cameron started strong, quickly establishing an early lead with sharp kills by Hailey Baker and Jennifer Valdez. Kayla Eggiman added momentum with a well-timed kill and a service ace. Defensive support came from Shelby Rusch, digs helped the Aggies get out of multiple attacks, while Rachael White's setting allowed Baker and Eggiman to capitalize on offensive opportunities. 



How It Happened (Texas Woman's)
SET 1 | The Aggies capitalized on serves and solid kills from Carsen Glaser and Kayla Eggiman, securing an early lead. Kayla Eggiman was delivered well-placed attacks and an ace. Cameron's offense led by Carsen Glaser and Hailey Baker, who both secured crucial kills. Jennifer Valdez added defensive support with an ace that shifted the momentum in Cameron's favor. The set remained neck and neck, with Cameron edging out TWU at 26-24, taking the first set.

SET 2 | The set filled with back-and-forth rallies. Kayla Eggiman continued to make an impact with a service ace early on, and Shelby Rusch contributed with a key assist that allowed the Aggies to keep the score close. Despite Cameron's attempts from Hailey Baker and Rhayan Earl, errors allowed TWU the ability to secure the set at 25-19. 

SET 3 | Early in the set, Baker made a strong impact with an assertive kill, bringing Cameron to lead. Eggiman also contributed a critical service ace, keeping the Aggies close to TWU. Jennifer Valdez made her presence felt on defense, contributing key digs and working with Baker to challenge TWU hitters. TWU was able to close the set at 15-25.

SET 4 | Hailey Baker made an impact with several kills, Kayla Eggiman followed up with kills of her own, and Jennifer Valdez also stepped up, adding a service ace that shifted momentum. Key digs from Shelby Rusch also helped the Aggies but, TWU ultimately clinched the set at 25-12.
