Canyon, TX – Men's Basketball has five game win streak snapped
On Thursday, Feb 1, the Cameron Aggies traveled to Canyon, TX. to take on #1 ranked West Texas A&M. Both teams came into the game with impressive win streaks. The Aggies entered the contest riding a five game win streak, while the Buffaloes came in with an astounding 15 game win streak. Cameron was also looking to avenge a four-point loss to WT from Jan. 6.
Cameron jumped out to an early seven-point lead with help from a
Jaylan Thomas three-pointer. WT fought back quickly and took the lead with a three-pointer of their own. The Buffaloes would take a 13 point lead into halftime. The Aggies were able to come to within five points of the lead after another three-pointer, this time by
Reggie Prudhomme. That was as close as the Aggies could get as WT would go on to win 90-78.
Lavell Brodnex grabbed a double-double for Cameron with 22 points and 10 rebounds.
Daylon Andrews and
Reggie Prudhomme each added 14 points in the effort.
Cameron drops to 13-7 overall and 9-5 in Conference play with the loss.
The Aggies next travel to Lubbock, TX. at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, when they take on Lubbock Christian University.
