Softball takes both games of the WNMU doubleheader

Cameron adds two more wins to their record

Game 1
            In the first inning, Cameron's Madysen Boutwell ignited the scoreboard with a powerful homer to left center, bringing in four runs as Kaiden Boren, Alyssa Deanda, and Taylor Rowley crossed home plate. However, Western New Mexico quickly responded as J. Peters slammed a homer to center field, scoring H. Martinez, narrowing the gap to 4-2. Cameron's offensive prowess continued in the second and third innings with Kelsey Creech and Boutwell each adding solo home runs, extending their lead to 6-2. In the fifth, Western New Mexico's K. Hickman swung big with a three-run homer, bringing the score to 6-5. Cameron surged again in the seventh as Rylee Ross and Presleigh Payne delivered timely singles, driving in crucial runs to widen the lead to 9-5, sealing their victory.

Game 2
 
            In game two, Cameron took an early lead in the first inning with homers from Taylor Rowley and Kaiden Boren, while Western New Mexico responded with L. Morales's homer in the second. Cameron continued to dominate, with Tinley Schmidgal's two-RBI single in the third. Both teams exchanged homers in subsequent innings, but Cameron's Kelsey Creech sealed the win with a three-run homer in the seventh, securing a 13-7 victory.
