Softball Splits the doubleheader with Lubbock Christian

Aggies go 1-1 in doubleheader

Game 1

Lubbock Christian took the lead early with A. Oyanguren's double, driving in two runs in the 1st inning, and later, B. Hughes's RBI double in the 7th inning. Despite Cameron's defensive efforts, Lubbock Christian secured a 3-0 victory. In contrast, Cameron struggled offensively, managing just one hit throughout the game. Despite their resilience, they couldn't overcome Lubbock Christian's strong performance.

Game 2
Cameron started strong in the first inning with Taylor Rowley scoring on a wild pitch, followed by Kelsye Loughman's RBI triple in the second, giving them a 2-0 lead. Lubbock Christian responded in the fourth with K. Gibbs's RBI walk, closing the gap. However, Loughman homered in the same inning, extending their lead to 3-1. In a fiercely competitive fifth inning, Cameron's Tynlee Schmidgal and Kelsey Creech added crucial RBIs, widening the lead to 7-3. Lubbock Christian fought back in the sixth with homers from A. Oyanguren and B. Myers, narrowing the gap to 7-6. However, Schmidgal secured a 9-6 victory for the Aggies with a two-RBI single in the sixth inning, sealing their win in an exhilarating match.
