Men's Basketball Picked 12th in LSC Preseason Poll, Mitchell Named Player to Watch

RICHARDSON, Tex. - The Lone Star Conference announced preseason polls and accolades ahead of the upcoming 2025-26 men's basketball season on Monday morning.

The Aggies were chosen 12th out of the 17-team field, receiving 301 points in the voting. Dallas Baptist took the top spot with 850 points and 42 first place votes, while St. Mary's and Lubbock Christian rounded out the top three at 724 and 720 points respectively.

CU finished the 2024-25 season at 12-16 and 9-13 in LSC play, but bring almost an entirely new roster. Only three returners join the Aggies this season as they'll be led by first-year head coach Nathan Kennedy.

Jordan Mitchell earned Player to Watch honors for the Aggies. The senior from Arkansas joins the Aggies after stints at Southern University and Graceland University. Mitchell played 23 games at Southern University, grabbing 13 steals and 39 assists along the way.

The Aggies open the 2025-26 season at home on Nov. 14 and 15 as they host CSU Pueblo and University of Colorado-Colorado Springs in the South Central Region Challenge.
