Lawton, Okla. - The Cameron University Men's Basketball team took down New Mexico Highlands on Tuesday evening, 89-81. Cameron got out to an early 17-6 lead after Thomas Tangle knocked down a three at the 14:26 mark. Efficient shooting from the floor and the three-point line, with Quinn Atazhoon knocking down three triples, led to the Aggies leading 48-39 at the half. In the second half, the Cowboys shifted the momentum by tying the game up at the 14:16 mark and then went on a 14-0 run to lead 61-53. Cameron would battle back, with Arzhonte Dallas scoring 12 of his 17 points in the second half, to help the Aggies retake the lead at the 4:22 mark. Cameron would build that lead up to nine points down the stretch and close out the game.

The Leaders 

• Thomas Tangle led the team offensively with 18 points and 10 rebounds on 7-of-11 shooting.

• Arzhonte Dallas also contributed by adding 17 points and 6 rebounds, going 5-for-6 from the field.

• Quinn Atazhoon provided a spark off the bench by shooting 5-of-5 from beyond the arc, finishing with 15 points 
   

Inside the Box Score 

• Cameron shot 44.6% (29-of-65) from the field. The Cowboys shot 47.1% (32-of-68) from the field.  

• Cameron went 77.3% (17-of-22) from the free-throw line and NMHU shot 63.2% (12-of-19). 

• The Aggies went 42.4% (14-of-33) percent from behind the arc. The Cowboys shot 26.3% (5-of-19)

The Aggies will be back on the road playing in the SNU Thanksgiving Holiday Classic. Cameron plays Southern Nazarene on Friday, November 28th at 7:30 PM and Southeastern Oklahoma State on Saturday, November 29th at 5:30 PM.
