San Antonio, Texas – The men's golf team faced an unexpected challenge on Day 1 of the Rattler Invitational as a frost delay pushed back the start of play at The Dominion Country Club.
With chilly morning temperatures causing unplayable conditions, teams had to adjust their schedules before finally hitting the course. Despite the delay, the Aggies remained focused and prepared to compete against a strong field in the opening rounds of the tournament. The team ended the first day of the tournament tied in 10th place with Lubbock Christian University. As a team, the team scored 27 over par (310 strokes) in round one.
Carson Wright is tied in 19th place with DBU, Texas A&M International, St. Mary's, and Midwestern State with a score of 3 over par (76 strokes) in the first round.
Alois Casalonga finished day one in 34th place while tying with DBU, West Texas A&M, and Western New Mexico University with a score 6 over par (79 strokes) in the first round.
Rangel (Maximus) Cavazos tied in 40th with Texas A&M International, Midwestern State, West Texas A&M, and DBU with a first round score of 7 over par (80 strokes).
Rory Gorman is tied in 67th place with Texas A&M International and St. Mary's with 12 over par (82 strokes) in the first round.
Dennon Norman is currently standing in 73rd place with a score of 13 over par (83 strokes).
Due to the late start of the tournament, the second round was not finished on day one. Day two will attempt to begin at 8:00 am with the possibility of a frost warning, delay may occur.
