Lawton, OK – Cameron Golf announces 2025 schedule.
Head Coach Tyler Kaman sat down and talked about what the team is focusing on in several key areas to ensure that the team is ready for challenges ahead. "We are focusing on Physical Conditioning, Mental Toughness, making improvements in both teams short game, Course Management, and being a better teammate for one another."
Coach Kaman expresses his goals not only on the greens but off the greens are centered around long-term growth, individual development, and fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. "Our on-course goals are more focused on consistency in performance and the processes to get there. The plan is to work hard and learn from every practice, drill, and exercise." Coach Kaman explains the off-course goals are always to continue their pursuit for academic excellence. "We emphasize academics just as much as athletics. I expect our players to maintain a strong academic standing and balance their commitments to both golf and schoolwork. We've built a supportive environment where players help one another stay on track with their studies, and I regularly check in to ensure academic priorities are being upheld by all members of the program."
The biggest change is turning the coach's office into a Recovery Room for the golfers. This space was designed to be a comfortable, relaxing environment where players can unwind, socialize, and recover after intense training sessions. "Thanks to a generous donation, we've received several high-quality physical therapy massage guns. These have been an incredible addition to our recovery routine and something we have integrated as part of our training processes."
The coaching staff has invested in a variety of new practice training aids designed to help the players refine their skills. "These include swing analyzers, putting mats, alignment tools, and more. The addition of these tools allows us to provide real-time feedback and individualized coaching, ensuring that each player can work on specific areas of their game with precision. It's really enhanced the quality of our practice sessions and has been a game-changer for improving technique and performance."
The Golf team will be on the road for their first spring tournament February 10 to Humble, Texas to play in the Houston Classic.
