Edmond, Okla- The Women's Golf Team had a strong first day of play at the Diffy Ford Lincoln Invitational at the Kickingbird Golf Club hosted by Southern Nazerene. The Aggies end day one of the invitational tied for 4th place with Southern Arkansas.
Alexis Webb and
Maria Jose Savoca are tied for 5th place both shooting just 3 over par with a day one score of 73. Alexis had a strong day of play highlighted by some great moments of golf. Alexis made a 30 foot birdie putt on hole 10 which started her momentum, then a few holes later on 16 she hit a 7iron on a par 3 to 6 feet and made another great birdie. The ladies performance was challenged by some difficult weather conditions, namely strong wind effecting play. Coach
Tyler Kaman was proud of team on their first day of play. Coach Kaman had this to say about Day 1, "The girls handled the tough conditions very well. I was very proud of how the battled and fought to earn every shot. That's what led to our success today in day 1, now we need to carry that over to day 2."
