Kerrvile, Texas — Men's golf team made a big move on day one of the Battle at Riverhill tournament, climbing into fourth place after a remarkable second-round performance at Riverhill Country Club.
After opening with a 299 in the morning round, the Aggies caught fire in the afternoon with a 278 — one of the lowest team rounds of the day—finishing at +1 overall. The strong performance puts the Aggies just five strokes behind third-place Odessa College (-4) and within striking distance of second-place New Mexico JC (-8).

Carson Wright led the way for the Aggies, carding back-to-back rounds of 71 to finish the day at -2, tied for eighth place individually.
Rory Gorman and
Ethan Korock also came up big in round two, each shooting 70 to finish at +1 and +2.
Dennon Norman added two consistent rounds of 73 to sit at +2, while
Rangel (Maximus) Cavazos bounced back from a 77 with a 70 if his own to land at +3.
Alois Casalonga made the biggest leap in the afternoon, shaving 12 strokes off his first-round 80 to shoot a 68—one of the best individual rounds of the day.
Cameron will tee off Tuesday morning for the final round at Riverhill Country Club with their eyes set on chasing down a podium finish.
