Volleyball Opens Conference Play Against UT Tyler and UT Dallas

LAWTON, Okla. - The Cameron University volleyball is set to open Lone Star Conference play this weekend as it travels to East Texas to take on UT Tyler and UT Dallas.

The Aggies (4-8, 0-0 LSC) bring their best record into conference play since 2022, when the squad tallied five wins during the nonconference schedule.

First up for the Aggies will be the Patriots of UT Tyler on Sept. 26 at 6 PM before taking on a rematch against UT Dallas on Sept. 27 at 2 PM. Both matches will be available for live streaming on FloCollege.

Cameron trails in the series against the Patriots at 0-6, with their last meeting being a 1-3 win for UT Tyler on Sept. 28, 2024.

Meanwhile, the Aggies and the Comets of UT Dallas have met just once before, last weekend during the LSC Challenge. There, the Aggies grabbed a 3-1 in the nonconference matchup.

SCOUTING THE PATRIOTS

UT Tyler comes into the weekend at 4-6 following a difficult nonconference slate. The Patriots have faced off against No. 5 Ferris State, No. 7 Central Oklahoma, No. 10 West Texas A&M, and No. 13 Angelo State, picking up a 3-2 win over ASU.

Autumn Perry leads the Patriot offense with 119 kills on a .252 attacking percentage. Saige Rivera has fueled the UT Tyler attack by a large margin, leading the Patriot offense with 237 assists - more than the rest of the UT Tyler squad combined.

Defensively, Audrey Brandon tallies the most blocks at 22.0 while Perry trails just behind at 17.0. Anna Arceneaux has proven the most reliable of the Patriot backline with a total of 120 digs.

SCOUTING THE COMETS

UT Dalls brings a 2-8 record into LSC play. During the nonconference schedule, the Comets picked up wins over Auburn Montgomery and Mississippi College. Their last time out, UTD fell to the Aggies at the LSC Challenge, 1-3.

For the Comet offense, Jane Burkhardt leads the way with 104 kills, while Sydney Sabin tallies the most assists at 172.

Marl Hernandez has grabbed the most digs for UTD with 167 and a .961 reception percentage. Meanwhile, Laura See has proven a force at the net with 25.0 blocks.
