Men's Basketball Falls in 2OT to Midwestern State, 86-79

Lawton, Oklahoma - The Cameron University men's basketball team came up short in double overtime against Midwestern State University Thursday evening. The first half started out back-and-forth with both teams trading leads, before the Mustangs grabbed the lead and extended it to 9 points at the halfway mark in the first half. The Aggies battled back and tied the game up with a three-pointer by Michael Jones at the 5:52 mark. Midwestern State would retake the lead and go into halftime up 40-35. In the second half, Midwestern State would hold their lead until Jaden Jaurez scored a layup with 11 seconds to go to send the game to overtime. In the first overtime, Midwestern State took the first lead, before Arzhonte Dallas tied the game back up with free throws. The Mustangs would grab the lead back with less than 2 minutes left, but the Aggies answered with a layup to tie the game again and send the game its second overtime. Midwestern State started the second overtime off strong with a couple, quick scores and built on their lead to close the game out.

  • Michael Jones posted a double-double with 18 points and a game-high 15 rebounds, and added 2 blocks and a steal.
  • CJ Yao scored 18 points off the bench, grabbed 8 rebounds, and recorded a block.
  • Brodie Mcwhinney added 13 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field and pulled down 6 rebounds.
  • Arzhonte Dallas contributed 13 points, 4 assists, one steal, and one block.
