LAWTON, Okla. – The Cameron University Volleyball team closed out its opening Lone Star Conference home weekend Saturday afternoon against the University of Texas at Dallas inside Aggie Gym. The Aggies responded from an opening-set loss with a dominant second-set victory and battled the Comets late in the fourth before falling in four sets, 25-17, 15-25, 25-17, 25-22. Cameron battled back from an early deficit in the opening set, using a service ace from Anastasija Andelic to pull within four at 19-15. UT Dallas answered down the stretch, however, taking six of the final eight points to claim the opener, 25-17. The Aggies responded with their strongest set of the afternoon in the second. Cameron jumped ahead 9-3 behind a kill from Lillian Carollo and continued to build its advantage. Caitlyn Cornell helped fuel the attack with four kills in the frame, while Taylor Silva delivered a service ace during a late run that pushed the lead to 21-11. Maria Osorio finished off the set with a kill to give Cameron a 25-15 victory and even the match at one set apiece. UT Dallas regained control with a 25-17 victory in the third, but Cameron continued to battle in the fourth. The Aggies erased an early deficit and took an 11-10 lead on a kill from Carollo. After the Comets moved back in front, Cameron rallied again late, scoring three straight points to tie the frame at 22-22. UT Dallas responded with the final three points to secure the set, 25-22, and the match. Cameron finished the afternoon with 40 kills, 38 assists, 73 digs, five service aces and three total blocks. The Aggies hit .123 for the match, highlighted by a .184 hitting percentage in their second-set victory.

Key Performers
Maria Osorio led the Cameron attack with a team-high 12 kills on 38 attempts. She added six digs and a block assist to finish with a team-high 12.5 points.
Caitlyn Cornell turned in an efficient performance with 10 kills on 17 attacks and just one error for a team-best .529 hitting percentage. She also added two digs and a block assist, finishing with 10.5 points.
Anastasija Andelic contributed five kills, one service ace and 13 digs, finishing with six points.
Sydney Walker handed out a team-high 19 assists while adding nine digs and a service ace.
Mavery Salisbury added 12 assists and 10 digs.
Ana Hrle recorded four kills, one solo block and one block assist, while Lillian Carollo added four kills, six digs and a block assist.
