LAWTON, Okla. – The Cameron University women's cross country team opened the 2026 season with a strong showing on its home course Friday morning, placing second at the Aggie Duels. The Aggies finished with 54 points, trailing only East Central University's winning total of 30. Cameron placed three runners inside the top seven and finished ahead of Midwestern State University, Northwestern Oklahoma University and Amarillo College in the team standings. Boglarka Kalman led the Aggies with a third-place finish, completing the 5K course in 18:25.3. Akaya Lightbourne followed close behind in fifth place with a time of 18:57.1, while Alyssa Buchan gave Cameron its third top-seven finisher, placing seventh in 19:06.2. Daira Rojas-Vasquez crossed the line fourth for Cameron, finishing 16th overall with a time of 19:50.2. Charlotte Glander completed the Aggies' scoring five with a 23rd-place finish in 20:10.0. The five scorers combined for a total time of 1:36:28 and an average time of 19:17.Cameron also received finishes from Jodi-Ann Graham, who placed 44th in 21:52.3, and Noa Garcia-Mejias, who finished 50th in 22:18.3. Mirela Planesas crossed the line in 23:05.0, while Britney Mackey finished in 24:27.0.The Aggies' second-place team finish highlighted a strong start to the season, with three Cameron runners breaking the 19:10 mark in the opening race.
