Cameron University Athletics

2018 (Senior): Velasco recorded a 6-12 singles mark and a 12-8 doubles record during his final season playing for Cameron. He was 8-8 playing at the No. 1 doubles spot and 4-0 playing at No. 3. Velasco also had big wins against ranked teams in Southwest Baptist and Midwestern State. His success on the court earned him the LSC's Sportsmanship Player of the Year honor and an honorable mention All-LSC singles nod. 

2017 (Junior): Had a solid junior campaign, going 15-9 in singles play and 21-7 in doubles. Paired with Felipe Oyarzun, they formed one of the best Division II doubles pairings in the nation, finishing the season ranked No. 9 after going 3-1 against other nationally ranked pairings. They won seven straight doubles matches at one point and finished the season having won in seven of CU's last 10 matches. Named All-LSC in doubles and honorable mention in singles. Awarded LSC All-Academic honors. 

2016 (Sophomore): Finished off his sophomore season with a 19-4 singles mark and a 14-13 doubles record. Went 1-1 in singles at the Midwestern Invitational (9/18-19). At the ITA Regionals (9/25-27) made it to the doubles finals with Felipe Oyarzun going 5-1, and went 3-1 in singles. Had a seven match singles win streak going through the middle of CU's season. Finished the season with a 7-2 single mark through the Aggies' final 10 matches. 

2015 (Freshman): Went 12-7 in singles during his first season at Cameron, while going 10-9 in doubles play. Got his first singles and doubles wins against Cowley College on Feb. 10. Won eight straight singles matches toward the end of the season, going 8-1 in CU's last 10 matches. 

Personal: Younger brother of Andres Velasco (2013- ) who is also playing for Cameron...ranked 809 internationally on the Junior IFF Circuit.
