Jacob Carey joined the CU tennis staff in the fall of 2017 as a graduate assistant. Carey attended Bluefield State College where he was one of the top tennis players in the region. Carey was named the Athletes of the Year, the Scholar Athlete of the Year, and the men's tennis team MVP. His work on the court earned him a singles national ranking high of 21 and doubles high of 16. Carey was also the Atlantic Region Player of the Year and graduated ranked No. 1 in singles, doubles, and as a team in the region.Â
Carey was also a great student and leader at BSC, earning the Elite 90 Award for men's tennis, School of Business Outstanding Student Award, and was named Co-Valedictorian. He also helped hsi team reach four straight Regional Championships and an Elite 8 appearance.Â
The New Zealand native graduated with a BS in business administration with a concentration in mangement and a BS in accounting. He likes to cook and work out when he is not working with the Aggies on the court. Â
