Jeff Mahoney is beginning his 5th season as the head man at Cameron University. He was named the head wbb coach at Cameron in May of 2022 after serving as the assistant for 3 years under Emma Andrews.
In addition to his time as an assistant wbb coach, Mahoney took over the head MBB position halfway thru the season following the head coaches resignation and earned his 300th win as a men’s coach, as well as a heart stopping double overtime win over the #3 team in the country Lubbock Christian University.
Mahoney has a head coaching record of 34-77 during his 4 year tenure at the helm.
During his 3 year stint as an assistant coach with the Aggies, he was part of a staff that amassed 41 wins including 17 in 1922, the most wins in 20 years. CU has qualified for 4 LSC conference post season tournaments, while Mahoney has been on the bench including a South Central selection in 2021.
Mahoney has mentored and helped develop 9 LSC all conference players during his 7 years on the Aggie bench.
He is closing in on 500 wins as an Oklahoma High School and college basketball coach spanning 40 years of coaching both men and women.
Prior to returning to his alma mater, Mahoney won a 4A State Championship at Harrah HS in 2017 with a 28-1 record and was named the OBCA Central Region Coach of the Year.
Mahoney graduated from Cameron in 1986 with a Bachelor’s of Science in HPER. While at Cameron, he was a two-year letter winner as a member of the Aggie baseball team. He graduated high school in 1981 from Roosevelt, Oklahoma.
