Kayla Scott is in her first season as an assistant coach to the Aggie women's basketball program.
Scott comes from Western Texas College in Snyder, Texas where she was assistant coach to the women's basketball program during the 2013-14 season.Â
In 2013 Scott graduated from Howard Payne University in Brownwood, TX with her M.B.A., and earned her B.S. in Math in 2012 from HPU. Scott played four years for the HPU Lady Jackets earning a cumulative record of 85-25. In her career she won a conference championship, two west division championships, and reached the second round of the NCAA tournament. She was named ASC player of the week, and earned the awards of ASC Distinguished Scholar Athlete, ASC Academic All-Conference, and ASC Honorable Mention All-Conference.

A 2008 graduate of Azle High School, Scott was an All-District and MVP athlete in both basketball and soccer, and graduated 10th in her class. She has coached youth basketball for both the Fort Worth YMCA and Texas Express Basketball Club.Â
