Tyler Kaman was named Head Men's and Women's Golf Coach at Cameron University in August 2023, becoming one of the youngest head coaches in NCAA Division II golf. A former Aggie standout, Kaman returned to his alma mater with a vision of building championship-caliber programs through a culture centered on competitive excellence, player development, and academic success. Prior to being named head coach, Kaman served as Cameron's volunteer assistant coach after his playing career at the university, and helped the Aggies capture three tournament championships while assisting with recruiting, player development, practice organization, and tournament preparation.
In his first season leading the Cameron women's golf program, Kaman guided the Aggies to their first team tournament championship in seven years during the 2024-25 campaign. The historic season culminated with Cameron earning the program's first-ever berth to the NCAA Division II Women's Golf West Regional, marking a milestone achievement for the program and establishing a new standard for success.
On the men's side in the 2025-2026 campaign, Kaman continued Cameron's championship tradition by leading the Aggies to the 2026 Lone Star Conference Men's Golf Championship, adding another conference title to one of the nation's most successful Division II golf programs.
A native of Fredericksburg, Texas, Kaman graduated from Cameron University with a bachelor's degree in Business Marketing (2022) and a Master’s in Science Degree (2026). As both a former Aggie student-athlete and head coach, he is committed to developing championship-caliber golfers while preparing student-athletes for success in the classroom, on the course, and in life.
As a player, Coach Kaman was a three-time Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar, he earned All-Lone Star Conference First Team honors, was named the Lone Star Conference Scholar-Athlete, and finished his career with the third-lowest scoring average in school history. During his senior season, he won the Ryan Palmer Invitational while tying the Cameron single-round scoring record with a 65 and finishing the year ranked No. 21 in the South Central Region. Prior to Cameron, Kaman earned First Team NJCAA All-American honors at Tyler Junior College finishing in the Top 7 at the NJCAA National Championship.
