LAWTON, Okla. -- Cameron Aggie junior Milton Garner was, quite simply, ready to be back home.
The Kansas City native led all scorers with 22 points in a 79-73 Aggie victory over visiting Bacone. It was his second-highest point total of the season after putting up 23 points against West Texas A&M on the road. Garner was also perfect from the foul line, sinking all 11 attempts.
Fans in attendance were treated to an aerial attack as players from both teams repeatedly went above the rim to pull down highlight reel jams. Senior Terry Dawson got the show going with a dunk for the first basket of the game. Dawson was one of four Aggies to score in double digits. The Sunrise, Fla., native put 11 on the board for Cameron.
Senior Nathan Murray finished just one rebound shy of his third consecutive double-double. Murray scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
The Aggies led by as many as 10 in the second half and a late Warrior surge fell short as both senior Josh Elix and junior Nathan Dawson fouled out of the game.
The Cameron men moved to 7-1 with the victory and will travel to USAO on Saturday, Dec. 11, in another non-conference showdown. Rival Midwestern State awaits on Monday in Aggie Gym. Tip off is set for 8 p.m.
