Aggies Unable to Match Bats with Drovers at Home, Fall 14-5

LAWTON, Okla. – It was a day of offense at McCord Field on Tuesday as the Cameron Aggies and USAO Drovers combined for 29 hits and 19 runs, but it was the visitors who came out on top as they took away a 12-5 victory to hand the Aggies their second home loss of the season.

The teams matched single runs in the fourth with the CU run coming off a roping Chase Larsson single down the right field line to bring in Dawson to make it 5-3.

USAO extended its lead with a pair of runs in the fifth while the Ags added a single run in the bottom stanza as P.J. Ortega hit into a double play but kept the ball away long enough for Nate Valdez to come in and make the scoreboard read 7-4.

Both teams added single runs in the sixth as Larsson singled through the right side to reach and was brought in by a Kenny Held double to left field.

The offensive production ended there for the Aggies, however, while the Drovers added six more over the final three innings to take the 14-5 win.
