Aggies unable to slow Dustdevils down

Box Score KINGSVILLE, Texas – Cameron couldn't recover from a twelve point halftime deficit to Texas A&M International and fell 90-71 in Kingsville on Friday afternoon.

The Aggies (2-2) didn't have many answers on how to slow the Dustdevils down early. Texas A&M International shot lights out from the arc hitting eight shots from downtown and shooting 53.8% from the field. Cameron didn't shoot the ball all that bad in the first half shooting 44%; however, the Aggies could only counter with a pair of threes to trail 42-30 at the half.

Cameron matched TAMIU early point for point, but a 20-4 Dustdevil run midway through the half pushed the Aggies behind 24 points. A late run by CU closed the gap to 12 points late, but that would be the closest they would get.

Will Cook would lead the Aggies with 18 points, while Craig Foster added 17 with four steals and four assists, and Desmond Henry added 14 points of his own. As a group, Cameron finished the game shooting 46.3% from the floor while only hitting four three point shots.

The Dustdevils (3-3) had one player with 20 points and three others in double figures; they would shoot 60.8% (31-51) from the field and hit 12 three pointers.

Cameron will remain in Kingsville for one more day; they will play UT-Permian Basin on Saturday at 2:30 pm.
