Crabtree nails 10 three-pointers in 86-75 win over Northwood

LAWTON, Okla. – Devon Crabtree wasn’t expected to play this season after tearing his ACL over the off-season, but on senior night he tied a program high 10 three-pointers leading CU to a 86-75 win over Northwood.

The Aggies (18-7) conclude their regular season perfect at home (12-0) and reached 18 wins for the first time under Head Coach Wade Alexander. Additionally, Cameron who had nine blocks broke a program high last set in the 1989-90 season.

Craig Foster joined the scoring with a double-double, 11 assists and 11 points.  Andrew Thomas “Country” added 14 points and seven rebounds. Trevor Smith broke a career high with 10 rebounds. 

Northwood was led by Jabbar Reid who put up 20 points, while Everrett Pleasant scored 11 for the Knights.

The Knights in the first half quieted the Aggie crowd after jumping out to a 10 point lead with 5:45 left. Crabtree carried the Ags with 21 first half points, drilling seven treys. Cameron would head into the locker room leading 44-41.

In the second half, Cameron put the throttle down early jumping out to a quick 9-0 run to lead 55-41. From there, the Aggie lead stabilized as Crabtree continued to hit three-pointers. Despite the scoring margin, Cameron controlled the half and went on to an 86-75 victory.

Cameron as a team shot 42.4 percent from the field while Northwood was 36.8 percent. In the rebounding battle, Northwood had a 45-40 advantage over the Aggies. 

The Aggies will await their next opponent which will be found out after Saturday night. Cameron will play on March 6 at 2:30 p.m. in the Lone Star Conference Tournament at the Allen Events Center in Allen, Texas.
