Aggies stun Christian Brothers, 3-0

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Cameron's youth prevailed, stunning Christian Brothers in straight sets 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-13) in the Henderson State Classic on Friday afternoon.

The Aggies as a group put together a .356 attack percentage, a mark they haven't set since Oct. 25, 2011 against Eastern New Mexico on Cameron's home floor.  Cameron smashed 17 kills and committed only two errors in the third set, resulting in a .577 attack percentage, their highest mark since the EMNU match in 2011.

Kelle Carver led the Ags offensively with 10 kills in her first match since 2011. Grace Newkirk, in her first official match came away with nine kills, while Kelsie Coplen in her black and gold debut had eight kills. Kayla Hebert also in her first match dished 35 assists. 

The Lady Buccaneers who were selected second in the Gulf South Conference and made the NCAA Tournament last season were led by Brinsley Cooper who had seven kills followed by Hannah Kurtz and Alexis Gillis who both had six kills apiece.  Jessica Reber had 29 assists and nine digs.

Cameron will play Central Oklahoma in the afternoon match today at 4 p.m.
