Aggies fall in three to Angelo State

SAN ANGELO -- Cameron didn't have many answers on how to slow down Angelo State's offense as they would fall in straight sets on Friday night.  With the loss to ASU, the Aggies will move to 10-9 overall and 3-7 in Lone Star Conference play, Angelo State goes to 17-5 and 7-4 in league play.

Set one turned out to be an offensive show between ASU and CU.  Both teams limited themselves to only three errors each but the Rambelles would hit .455 with 18 kills, while the Aggies hit .200 with 10 kills.  Angelo's offense tilted the first set in their favor 25-16; Kendra Adams and Paige Holt both had three kills each to lead CU.

Angelo State opened set two with five unanswered points and maintained the lead to repeat set one score 25-16.  The closest CU got to Angelo State was three points at the 11-8 mark before spreading the lead once again.

In set three, Cameron hung with Angelo State and tied the set at 16s before the Rambelles scored five unanswered and closed out the set with a 25-19 win.

Adams led the Aggies with eight kills; Rebecca Green had seven kills with no errors, and Kat Evans and Cristina Viera both having six each.  Lindsey McCauley led Cameron with 13 digs.

Mallory Blauser led ASU with 13 kills and Zoey Hanrahan added 10; the Rambelles hit .248 during the match while holding CU to .092.

Cameron will remain in Texas to face Tarleton State on Saturday at 2 p.m
