STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Cameron came out of the gates strong but for the second day in a row they would be swept in straight sets. Friday night it was Angelo State doing damage and Saturday Tarleton State dropped Cameron to .500 (10-10) and 3-8 in the Lone Star Conference, the TexAnns moved to 17-5 overall and 8-4 in LSC play.
Cameron controlled the better half of set one held onto a 21-18 lead on TSU; however a 5-2 run by the TexAnns changed the tides in the set and gave them the lead. A CU timeout couldn't snap the TSU momentum and they would close out the late comeback with a 25-23 win.
After the come from behind win in set two, Tarleton State handled the Aggies from start to finish after hitting .294 a as team to win 25-18.  The Aggies would hit .027 with
Kendra Adams netting three kills.
With the 2-0 lead, Tarleton State came out of the break swinging and opened set three with a 14-4 run. Cameron would not regroup from the early lead by TSU and they would take the match with a 25-16 third set win.  The Aggies would have more errors than kills, and hit -.071 in the final frame of the match.
Adams for the second night in the row lead CU with 10 kills,
Cristina Viera had five, with
Kat Evans adding four.Â
Ingrid Boatman dished out 14 assists to pace CU, and
Lindsey McCauley had 13 digs.
Hailey Roberts led TSU with 17 kills and as a group they hit .226 against Cameron. The Aggies would have 12 of the attacks blocked by Tarleton State and hit .047 during the match.
The Aggies will remain on the road to face Eastern New Mexico on Tuesday at 8 p.m.
