Cameron cruises past East Central

ADA – Cameron is riding their longest winning streak since the 2011 season after a three set sweep of East Central on Tuesday night.  The Aggies have won four matches in a row and they are now 9-7 overall, and the Tigers fall to 3-16 this season.

Five ECU errors and a pair of Aggie kills gave CU the quick 7-1 lead in the first set and kept them in front from start to finish and took a 25-23 win.

In set two, Cameron's offense clicked and despite six ties the Aggies used a 7-1 run to break a 7-7 tie to pull in front and never look back to win 25-17.   CU knocked down 16 kills while only committing three errors to hit a .394 clip during the set; Kendra Adams paced the Ags with five kills and Paige Holt knocked down four.

With the two set lead, CU quickly closed the book for the Tigers in the third after opening the frame with an 8-2 lead and rolled to a 25-20 win to sweep ECU.   Cameron hit .282 during the final set with Kat Evans, Rebecca Green, and Adams all having four kills each.

Cameron had three players with over 10 kills with Green leading the way with 12 and hitting .360 for the night, Evans and Adams both ended with 10 each.  Lindsey McCauley led both teams on the floor with 18 digs; Kayla Hebert recorded her tenth double-double of the season with 16 assists and 14 digs, while Ingrid Boatman dished out a match high 24 assists.

East Central's Mackenzie Davis led her team's offense with nine kills, with Hayley Gerken adding eight.  On the defensive end, ECU led the way with nine total team blocks, compared to CU's one.

Cameron will return to Lone Star Conference play to host West Texas A&M on Friday and Eastern New Mexico on Saturday.

Match Notes:
Cameron has swept three out of their last four and has swept four matches this season.
