Cameron falls at #15 Harding, 115-84

SEARCY, Ark. – The Cameron University women's basketball team fell for the second night in a row to #15 Harding 115-84 on Saturday night.  Brandi Leal went 7-14 on the floor and led Cameron with 18 points as they would fall to 0-2 and Harding goes to 2-0 this season.

In the first half the Aggies stayed within a possession of Harding through the opening 10 minutes.  However, the Bison went scored seven unanswered until Sasha Carter hit a jumper at the seven minute marker making it a 30-23 HU lead.  The Bison lead stuck around at seven points until they would continue to distance themselves from the Aggies and stretched it to double-digits when CU went silent from the field in the closing minutes of the half.  

The Aggies left for the locker room at the half trailing 52-38, with Leal leading the way with 10 points; as a team they shot 37.5 percent from the field, while Harding went 44.4 percent on their end of the floor.

Cameron got within nine points of HU six minutes into the second half but they could not slow down the Bison offense who would go 62.9 percent on the floor and knocked down 63 points.  The Aggies shot better in the final 20 minutes with 43.2 percent but countered with 46 points.

Offensively for the Aggies, Jazzmine Robinson came away with 16 points; Carter had 12, and Markita Zeigler added 10.

The rebounding battle was dominated by Harding who had 60 to Cameron's 33.

Harding was led by Montana Lewis who had 28 points, with four other in double-figures.

Cameron will be off until Nov. 22 where they will travel to Fort Hays State for non-conference play.
