OKLAHOMA CITY –
Deondre Ray paced the Aggies with 20 points to lead them a 68-61 win at Oklahoma Christian on Saturday afternoon. The victory for the Aggies snapped a three game losing streak and sends them to 4-3 overall, the Eagles will fall to 2-4 in non-conference play.
Cameron was aided by 10 steals off of Oklahoma Christian and netted 22 points which helped guide the Ags to the win.
In the first half, the Aggies led as many as 16 points after opening with a 22-5 lead on the Eagles. Oklahoma Christian closed the gap on CU before the half concluded and got within five,
30-20, with 48 seconds left in the half.Â
Desmond Henry would finish the opening half in the next possession with a jumped for his tenth point and sent the Aggies with 32-25 lead the half.
Cameron returned to their offensive assault in the second half on OC and after a
Cameron Lee bucket with 11:46 the Aggies were up 46-33 with 11:49 to go. Â Â However, Oklahoma Christian was not done and went on a 15-2 run afterward to get within a pair with just under seven left in the game. The Eagles continued to circle the Aggies for the next three minutes before Ray knocked down a three-pointer to make it at least a two-possession advantage the rest of the way for CU.
Henry was CU's leading rebounder with six, he would also add 13 points, and have a career high seven assists.
Despite shooting 3-19 at the arc, the Aggies shot 45.9 percent on the floor; Oklahoma Christian went 40.8 percent on their side of the court.   Cameron won the rebounding battle by six
with 37 boards, and had five fewer turnovers with 12 overall.
The Eagles had four in double-figures with John Moon leading his squad with 14.
Cameron will be off until Saturday, Dec. 13 where they will host Rogers State at the Aggie Gym.Â
