Game Recap: Volleyball |

Volleyball falls to ATU, 3-1

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Cameron dropped their first of two games on Tuesday, falling to Arkansas Tech 3-1 in Russellville. The loss for the Aggies is their fourth in a row and drops them to 5-7 overall, while the Golden Suns move to 11-4 overall this season.

Both the Aggies and Golden Suns traded 25-22 victories in the first two sets before ATU distanced themselves from CU in the third set with a 25-18 win. In the fourth set both teams traded points until ATU gained a 23-20 lead before the Aggies got a pair of kills and relied on a Golden Sun error to tie the set and forced a timeout. However, the Cameron momentum stopped there and the Aggies would hit into a service error and ATU dropped down a match winning kill to stop CU.

Cameron had a trifecta in double-digit kills with Rebecca Green leading the way with 15, Kendra Adams adding 11, and Kat Evans chipping in 10. Kayla Hebert and Ingrid Boatman both had double-double matches with Hebert having 16 assists and 12 digs, and Boatman adding 20 assists and a team high 17 digs.

ATU's Kaylee Konsella led both teams with 25 kills with ATU hitting .250 as a team, while CU hit .181 on their side of the court.

This is game one of two for the Aggies in Russellville; they will face Williams Baptist to wrap up the road trip.

Post-Match Notes:
Kayla Hebert earned her team high ninth double-double of the season.
