RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Cameron recorded their second sweep of the season, handling Williams Baptist College 3-0 Thursday afternoon. The win moves the Aggies one game closer to .500 with a 6-7 record, and drops the Eagles to 10-7 on the season.
The Aggies came out and won the first set, thanks to a negative attack percentage by Williams Baptist and capitalized on that, winning 25-16. A .486 hitting percentage and 21 kills powered CU to a 25-17 set two win, as the Eagles could only record nine kills on 25 attacks. Cameron finished off the sweep with a 25-19 win in set three that would stop their losing streak at a season high four games.
Kat Evans and
Kendra Adams matched each other with a game high 11 kills, and Evans recorded her fifth double-double of the year with 12 digs. Both Adams and Evans hit over .300 and combined for only seven errors in the match.
Ingrid Boatman set up her teammates well, totaling 26 assists while
Kayla Hebert chipped in 11 of her own.
Taylor Tepfer helped out the defensive cause, recording her fifth double digit dig game of the season with 17.
WBC had two players with seven kills apiece, while their setter only recorded 11 assists.
Cameron will return home after a long road trip to host Texas A&M-Kingsville on Oct. 6 and then Arkansas-Monticello on Oct. 7. Â Â
