SAN ANGELO, Texas– Cameron volleyball fell in its third match in a row Saturday afternoon after Angelo State swept the Aggies in straight sets (15-25, 20-25, 22-25). The Aggies are 13-3 on the season and 4-3 in Lone Star Conference play.

Jordan Williams led in digs for the Ags with 14, while freshman
Tori Luckenbill recorded 30 assists.
Angelo State came away with the better hitting percentage on the match with .287, while Cameron ended with a .131 hitting clip. The Rambelles recorded a total of 55 kills, 73 digs, and four blocks. The Aggies had 36 kills, 55 digs, and six total blocks.
The Rambelles opened set one with back-to-back kills, but Cameron responded with two of their own. The set only knotted once more at three until a Rambelle kill gave ASU the lead. Angelo State retained its lead for the entirety of the set, paced by 18 kills, five of which came from sophomore Brianna Sotello and junior Zoey Hanrahan, to end with a .400 hitting clip. Cameron recorded 13 kills and a .190 attacking percentage.
Set two opened with three straight ASU kills, but Cameron would gain three back off of Rambelle attack errors and a kill by Evans. However, after the set tied once more at four, ASU went on a three point run to lead, 7-5. The Rambelles never looked back, taking set two, 20-25, backed by nine kills from Sotello.
Both teams traded kills at the start of the third set, until CU pulled ahead, 4-2, following a block by Adams and Allen. The set was tightly contested as the score knotted nine times. With the board reading 22-22, ASU scored three straight points to win, 22-25.
Angelo State (17-4) was led by Brianna Sotello who recorded 22 kills and 13 digs.
The Aggies remain on the road next week for a match at Eastern New Mexico on Oct. 16 and West Texas on Oct. 17.
