LAWTON– The Cameron volleyball team fell in a sweep to Angelo State (16-25, 15-25, 16-25) on Friday evening. The loss moves the Aggies' overall record to 16-8 and 7-8 in the Lone Star Conference.

Kat Evans led the Aggies in kills with seven, and Jenna Gillean was one behind her with six. Gillean also assisted in four CU blocks. Cristina Viera got 14 digs for the Ags, while Madison Holle contributed 13 assists.

Angelo State held Cameron to a .034 attacking percentage on the match while hitting a .295 clip themselves. The Rambelles put down 47 kills total compared to the Aggies' 24 with junior Mallory Blauser contributing 18 of those kills for ASU's team high. Angelo State also had nine total team blocks versus Cameron's four.

Both teams traded points at the start of set one until the score knotted at three. Cameron went on a three point run following a kill from Gillean and two ASU attack errors, but the Rambelles answered back with three of their own to tie the set for a final time at six. ASU's offense sparked, and the Rambelles took the first set 25-16 paced by 18 kills.

Errors plagued the Aggies in the second set. Off a 1-1 tie, Angelo State scored five consecutive points, three of which resulted from Cameron errors.  The Rambelles never let off their lead and won set two 25-15. Angelo State's momentum carried forward as the Rambelles retained the lead for the entirety of set three. With the board reading 22-16, ASU scored three straight points to win the set, 25-16, and match.

Cameron will return to the Aggie Gym tomorrow at 2 p.m. for a final regular season contest against Tarleton State.
