Cameron men continue road trip to Dallas Baptist

First tip: The Aggies are 4-3 overall and undefeated on the road at 3-0. Last weekend, Cameron upset fifth-ranked Drury 72-70 at the Drury Classic but fell the following day 90-85 to Truman State. The Black and Gold had two players score in double figures during both contests in Deondre Ray and Jamaal Brantley. On the season, the Aggies are led by the three prong offensive attack of Cameron Lee (14 ppg), Ray (13.4 ppg), and Brantley (13.3 ppg). Brantley also leads the team in rebounds per game with 6.6. Fourth in the league in assists per game (4.0) is JV Long, and he is second in the conference in assist/turnover ratio notching 2.5.
 
Last time out: Cameron split a pair of games at the Drury Classic on Nov. 27-28 with the Aggies upsetting #5 Drury 72-70 in the first game of the series. The Aggies scored 13 points off of 11 Panther turnovers, and 33 points came from the CU bench. From the field, CU finished 39.7% (23-58) and Drury had 40.4% (21-52) on the floor. Cameron Lee led CU's offense with 15 points on the game with Jamaal Brantley and Christian Crockett behind him with 12 points each. Crockett and Alexsandar Malinic also grabbed eight boards for the Ags.

The following day the Aggies fell to Truman State in a 90-85 loss. From the field, CU finished 53.3% (32-60) and TSU had 48.4% (30-62) on the floor. Cameron made half of its treys to go 7-14, but the Bulldogs would net 13-35 for 37.1%. The charity stripe proved to be the difference with Truman State finishing 81% (17-21) behind the line, while the Aggies went 70% (14-20). Turnovers also played a factor as the Aggies had 13 to the Bulldogs' seven, and TSU scored 15 points off of the takeaways.
 
About Dallas Baptist: DBU returns nine players from last year's squad including Myles Johnson who leads his team in points per game with 17.6. The Patriots (3-2) have scored 90 or more points in four of their last five games this season but allow 81 opponent points. The team leads the Heartland Conference in three-point field goals made, averaging 10.4 per game paced by Johnson's 3.2 treys per contest for second on the league's individual leaderboard. Dallas Baptist is coming off a 96-79 win over USAO paced by three Patriots who scored in the double figures with Shannon Lilly leading the way with a game high 24 points, shooting 3-6 from beyond the arc.
 
CU vs. DBU: Against the Patriots, the Aggies lead the overall series 12-6 with Cameron's last win at Dallas dating back to Dec. 18, 2006. The last time Cameron and Dallas Baptist met was 2008 during head coach Nate Gamet's first year with the Cameron basketball program.
