Game Notes

First tip: Cameron is on a three game losing streak after beating #5 ranked Drury on the road and the upcoming contest with Bacone will be only the second home event this season.  The present skid for the Aggies matches the longest one since the second half of the 2013-14 season when CU lost seven in a row.   CU red-shirt freshman, JV Long has started all nine contests and is leading the team in assists and steals, while averaging just over ten points a game.  Deondre Ray and Jamaal Brantley are neck-and-neck for the team lead in points with roughly 13 a game. Additionally, the Aggies will have a post-game poster giveaway with the team signing following the contest.

Last time out: The Aggies fell in their third straight game 76-62 to undefeated Rogers State on Dec. 5. The Hillcats edged the Aggies in shooting, ending the game with 49% (25-51) on the floor and 37.9% (11-29) from behind the arc. Cameron's offense shot 46% (23-50) from the field and made four treys for 28.6% on the night. The Aggies trailed the entire game, tying the Hillcats once in the first, but RSU led 41-28 at the half. Despite CU improving its shooting from the floor in the second, going 14-29 (48%), RSU held the Aggies to just one three-pointer while hitting five themselves for eleven total on the game.

CU had trouble stopping the double threat of J.C. Hartzler and Donald Moore who scored a combined 48 of RSU's 76 points. RSU won the rebound battle by one (30-29) and had 14 second chance points to the Aggies' eight. Cameron had 17 turnovers with which the Hillcats scored 18 points, and they also scored 15 fast break points. Delvonte Pierre led CU with 13 points, five boards and two steals. Deondre Ray also had five rebounds and was CU's second scorer with 12 points. JV Long rounded out the Aggie group with 11 points and three assists.

About Bacone: The Warriors have one win this season and will face Austin College on Saturday before stopping into Lawton.  So far this season Bacone against their countable NAIA schedule have averaged just under 75 points a game.  However, their defense has been allowing nearly 100 points a game.  Nationally, in NAIA Division I they are sixth best in free-throw percentage and eleventh highest in total three-pointers made.  Bacone has four players averaging over 10 points a game with Brandon Chatman leading his squad with 16 points an outing.  In the rebounding battle, BC is -19 on the boards with 31 per game.

CU vs. BC: The Aggies have won all four meetings with Bacone as a four-year institution.  Cameron last faced the Warriors last season on Dec. 16 with the Aggies winning 97-73.  Five CU players hit double-figures with Ray leading the way with 20 points.  As Junior Colleges, both programs faced each other until 1965 with CU controlling the former series 19-5.
