Canyon, Texas–  The Cameron women's basketball team came up short against Colorado Christian in overtime, falling 81-78 on Friday night at the West Texas A&M Lady Buff Invite.

The game entered overtime after the score locked at 69-69 at the end of regulation as the Cougars made a layup with three seconds remaining following two missed free throws by CU.

The Cougars would outscore the Aggies 12-9 in the extra frame. In overtime with four seconds left,
Savanna James made a layup to put the Aggies within one point, 79-78, but a foul on CCU sent them to the line where they made both shots for the 81-78 win.

18 Aggies turnovers turned into 23 points for CCU who also beat the Aggies at the line making 22-of-24 while the Aggies turned in 18-for-25 foul shots.

Cameron shot 8-for-26 from three-point range compared to the Cougar's five made treys. The Aggies narrowly edged CCU from the floor 37 percent to 36 percent.

Four Aggies tallied double figures in scoring with
Brittany Hill leading with 18 points in addition to posting six rebounds, six assists and four steals.

James was one behind her at 17 points but added ten boards for the double-double and also had three blocks.

Ava Battese scored 13 points and
Jamie Bonnarens had 11 points.

Cameron drops to 1-4 overall while Colorado Christian is now 2-2 on the season.

The Aggies return to the court tomorrow against Tuskegee at 7:30 p.m. in Canyon, Texas.
