LAWTON, Okla.– The Cameron men's basketball team fended off a second half comeback attempt from Dallas Baptist to win 76-70 on Saturday afternoon in the Aggie Gym.

Cameron held the lead for the entire first half taking advantage of a cold shooting DBU who went 33 percent from the field, 12 percent from out deep and 50 percent from the line while the Aggies went 48 percent on the floor, 25 percent from the arc and 66 percent at the line to carry a 32-25 lead into halftime.

However, DBU would spur a 13-5 run in the first five minutes of the second half getting their first lead (38-37) of the game that lasted just 32 seconds.

After improving their shooting to 54 percent, the Patriots would come within one point of the Aggies seven times following their short lead and tied the game at 70 all with 44 seconds left.

JV Long went to the line making both free throws and with 22 seconds remaining DBU missed the three-point shot that would give them the lead.

Cameron made their next four foul shots to win 76-70 advancing to 6-1 overall while Dallas Baptist drops to 2-3 on the season.

Cameron's bench contributed 25 points in the win, and the Aggies had six steals overall.

The Aggies outrebounded DBU 37 to 33, and while they nearly matched made goals from the field and three-point range, CU beat the Patriots at the line shooting 16-for-22 overall to their 9-for-14 effort.

JV Long led the Aggies with 16 points and shot a perfect 6-for-6 at the line.
Tyus Momoh tallied 15 points and seven rebounds.

Also with seven rebounds was
Tyler Williams who also recorded a team high five assists and two steals.
Trey Hall rounded out CU's double figure scorers with 10 points.

Cameron will start conference action on Dec. 1 at Texas A&M-Commerce.
