Game Notes

First tip:
Cameron's 6-1 start is the best since the 2010-11 campaign when the Aggies started the season 7-1. Their wins against Rogers State and Dallas Baptist last week were big regional contests and provided a huge momentum boost heading into Lone Star Conference play. CU has been getting it done on defense, as they are third in the conference and 16th nationally in scoring defense, holding their opponents to 63.1 points per game.  The Aggies are also first in the conference and 24th nationally in assist to turnover ratio (1.41) and are one of the top three point shooting teams in the LSC, making 8.6 threes per game at a 37.3 percent clip.

JV Long proved why he was named the Lone Star Conference freshman of the Year last season as he averaged 18.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game last week. He shot 69 percent from the field, 67 percent from three point range, and hit on all 11 of his free throw attempts. Long was not alone last week, as Cameron had five players have double-digit scoring nights during the two game stretch.
